Peter Barrett

Peter holds a British Academy Diploma in epee, and has been a professional fencing coach for 12 years. He trained under a famous Hungarian coach, Bela Imregi. He teaches at a number of schools including Whitgift in Croydon, and King’s College School in Wimbledon. He is Great Britain U20 National Coach, and takes the U20 squad abroad to A-Grade events and the Junior and Cadet World Championships. He also runs training camps for U17 & U120 squad fencers.

He was a founder of Haverstock Fencing Club in north London, one of the largest and most successful clubs in the country, and now works at Britain’s oldest fencing club, London Thames.

Kate Smith

Kate Smith was a member of the first GB women’s epee team to compete abroad, competed in the first women’s epee world championships, and for England in Home Internationals and the Commonwealth Fencing Championships.

She became British Championship in 1988, and was placed 3rd in 2004. She still has a National ranking in the top 20 women.

She took up coaching a few years ago, and now teaches at a number of schools including Lady Eleanor Holles and King’s College Wimbledon.

Private Lessons

It is possible to arrange private lessons for individuals or small groups,weekdays and weekends.

 

Birthday Parties
Fencing birthday parties have proved very popular for children aged 10 and above, and can be arranged for groups of up to 12 or so.
